Okay, so if you know me at all, you've heard me sing the praises of Jasmine Star, wedding portraitess extraordinaire! I've been an avid reader and follower of her blog for a while now (originally because it was just so pretty, but it didn't take me long to find all the golden nuggets of wisdom and gems of photos she has tucked away there!), and I've already informed my parents that, someday, she will be the amazing, awesome photographer at my wedding.
Recently, I was out with a friend and her roommates, and when one of the roommies found out I was a photographer, she exclaimed, "Oh my gosh, do you know J Star?" And, of course, we drooled and screamed like high school girls together, swearing that she'd someday photograph each of our weddings. Roommie number one even said, "[Roommie number 2] saw her at Target the other day!" and we discussed it like a celebrity sighting.
So, anyway, I love browsing through her posts to look at pictures, but because she's simply amazing, the lovely J* also writes super informative FAQ posts to help out her fellow photographers. Today, she's put up What's In Your Bag?, a comprehensive guide to lenses and their practical uses. Of course, she shoots with a Canon, and I'm a Nikon lover, but still. This is a good read for any photographer, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, and even those who are just playing with the idea of getting into the sport of photography.
I'm a big proponent of following J*'s blog on a regular basis. Go check her out!

It's funny to me that you should mention J Star today because it was just yesterday that I went through exactly 25 pages of her photo blog at work... I love her. I forgot to tell you the other night that, though I don't have stacks of magazines and the like, I frequent more wedding photography websites than I'd ever care to admit. :) Miss Megan, you just made my night.
Your friend saw me at Target? Ugh. Please tell me I was wearing makeup. And preferably hair that didn't look like it went through a hurricane! :)
If you ever see me in Target, you better say HI! :)
